To my Valentine
Since Valentine day is coming up, I felt I should write a love letter. It is not to anyone in particular. It just what we forget to say or sometimes don’t know what to say, or know what our true feeling is.
To my dearest love,
There are so many things I learnt through my life but with love, I am still learning. So please forgive me when I do something wrong or stupid.
Firstly, I want you to know I don’t care about your past. You are where you are, as experience has made you the person you are today, that comes to me so freely and welcoming. Those people who hurt you or you hurt made you the amazing person you are today so please don’t carry that burden with you. I don’t need or want to know who you been with or what happens in the past as it is not important to me. What is important is that you are here with me, my love. What we have today and tomorrow is all that matter to me. But if you want to share your past with me I am open to it too. I know it does not matter what you have done. The people you hurt, the people that hurt you, it does not matter because what matter is what we have here, what you learnt and what we can do to make our love stronger, create memories and the journey we take.
When I am upset or when you are upset I will try to remember that you are fighting with yourself and it has nothing to do with me. I will not take it personally and you should not take it personally. Remind me how amazing you are. Remind me what matter and what is important to me. When I am sad, it not because of anyone but me, I feel loss and out of control. It is all in me the words and the world I have created in my mind. Show me a new world, show me a new vision for I have forgotten about it. I will do the same. When you are unhappy I will create a new vision for you, show you the new possibilities that we can create. Remind you that there is always a better way to see this world.
When you close yourself from me and I can not reach you, I will reach you through my heart sending you love, compassion, give you strength at a distance. When you are ready I am here so we can continue our journey together.
So my love when you are sad and I am not there, look for me in you, see me smiling at you with arm wide open running to you. Whatever mistake you make I know it the journey you have to take to develop yourself.
Let continue to walk together, I hope that we walk until we are old and grey but in life, we never know what it gives us. If or when our journey end please know that nothing is forgotten all the good memories will always be with me. Know that at this point in time our path has split as there are things we need to learn to be our better selves and I can not provide you with what you want and need to grow and blossom. Move forward without me.
Love is always there even when I am old and grey, for you are part of my memorable journey of love. It’s an imprint I can never remove.
